The Butterfly Flies is now available for purchase on CD Baby. In this album Jeffrey Lilly’s poetry explores the process of writing, the life of a gay Jew who has lost many friends and acquaintances to the AIDS crisis, and poetic expression from the point of view of a gay Jewish writer.

The work is accompanied by the music of Jonathan Comisar who composed and played the music accompanying Jeffrey Lilly's reading of his own poetry. Jonathan teaches music, composition, and arrangement at Hebrew Union College in New York City. He has also written music for musical theater plays.

"Jeff Lilly’s poetry dances through music and delivers a lyrical punch that should be heard and acknowledged out there in the world of words and sound."
Neeli Cherkovski, poet and author of Ferlinghetti: A Biography.
